Dear Friends,

We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! This is the season that brings the gift of a softened heart, as many of our friends and neighbours contemplate the Saviour and His teachings. We feel blessed and fortunate to have friends like you who have become like family.
2008 has been a very exciting year for the Doğan family. The most recent addition to our family is Troy Berk who was born on August 20th. As the first grandchild he has definitely stolen our hearts with his precious smile. Arife and Deniz also moved into their new home right before Troy was born. Deniz is currently working as an economist for the Government of Alberta.
Owen and Hannah are finishing their degrees at the university this coming April together. Owen is finishing up his Bachelor of Commerce and Hannah is receiving a Bachelor of Elementary Education.
As for us, Halil has still been working as a material testing engineer at the same company he has been working for the last 4 years. Other than that, he is still the first councilor in the bishopric which keeps him busy and out of trouble. Sıdıka left her job at the Greek restaurant and is now working at an Italian restaurant called Sorrentino’s as a chef. This has been a benefit to us all because since then our family has enjoyed the Italian cooking in our home.
When it comes to our beautiful city of Edmonton, it is as cold as the North Pole and now we know how Santa must feel like. We are grateful for the snow we have been getting for the last week but not necessarily enjoying -25 degrees during the day.
In closing of our Christmas letter we want you to know that we love you and we always think of you.
THE DOĞANS
